When it was time to re-coat the black water tanks on one of the local Crowley operated tugboats, they contacted Dave Rau at Tnemec Northwest (TNW).
Crowley, owns, operates and/or manages a fleet of more than 200 vessels, consisting of RO/RO (roll-on-roll-off) vessels, LO/LO (lift-on-lift-off) vessels, articulated tug-barges (ATBs), LNG-powered container/roll-on, roll-off ships (ConRos) and multipurpose tugboats and barges. Land-based facilities and equipment include port terminals, warehouses, tank farms, gas stations, office buildings, trucks, trailers, containers, chassis, cranes and other specialized vehicles.
When it was time to re-coat the black water tanks on one of the local company operated tugboats, they contacted Dave Rau at Tnemec Northwest (TNW) for a product recommendation. "Without a doubt, we recommend Series 141 for these applications every time", commented Dave. Tnemec Company Inc., has been using Series 141, Epoxoline II in corrosive wastewater environments for over 20 years, and with its versatile application characteristics, it was the perfect fit for this quick turnaround coating application.
"The system can be applied in 1 or 2 coats, plus a stripe coat", says Dave Rau, TNW's Marine Specialist. "This versatility gives the painter the option to get the application done on a very short dry dock." This is the 3rd set of tugboat black water tanks coated with Series 141, and Crowley Marine is very happy with the results.
